hello and welcome to another keto low carb and  diabetic friendly grocery haul a little bit of   information before I get started just in case  you’ve never seen one of my grocery hauls in   the past first I go to several different stores  in my area and that’s for a couple of reasons I’m   looking for the best deal and I’m also looking for  new low carb products so that I can try those out   and share them with you but the good news is I do  section the Halls up so you’ll know exactly what   products came from what store second I’m going  to include prices for you third this is more of   a question but what happened with bacon prices  this past month let’s take a moment of silence   for all the bacon I’m not going to be buying  until price goes back down I’m gonna miss it   I’ll be back at the end of the video so we can  go over a few things but for now let me show you   what I picked up this week [Music] let’s start out  with the Walmart haul I found two new drinks both   of these are limited time flavors the first one  is the limited edition flavor y 3000 zero sugar   by Coca-Cola the only ones they had were the mini  cans so I got a case of those there are 10 in here   and each one is 7.

5 ounces this drink was created  with AI technology and is supposed to let you know   what future drinks might taste like basically in  the year 3000 as far as nutritional information   everything is zero except for sodium and that’s  going to be 35 milligrams it was five dollars   and 88 cents the other new drink was Mountain  Dew zero sugar mystery flavored Voodoo this is   Mountain Dew’s version of a Halloween themed drink  this is their fifth year with the voodoo flavor I   got the case of 12 cans nutritional information  again everything zero except for sodium and this   one has 50 milligrams the Mountain Dew zero sugar  Voodoo was 4.

98 we go through a lot of cheese in   this house so I picked up the massive two pound  bag of Great Value Fiesta blend it is a mixture   of different cheeses 7.48 Daisy sour cream pure  and natural this is the 14 ounce squeeze tube   2.

68 Great Value sliced provolone cheese I like  to pick up the thinly sliced its net weight is   7.6 ounces okay hold on a second that’s not right  let me pull up my Walmart app and check something   out this has changed remember we talked about  shrinkflation the current provolone cheese that   it shows on Walmart’s website is the Great Value  sliced provolone eight ounce and it says 19 thin   slices the one that I just picked up net weight  has went down to 7.

6 ounces but somehow the slices   went up to 21. price did stay the same it was 2.22  but that was some sneaky work they got going on   there Great Value drink enhancers picked up two of  the grape flavored these are the 3.

11 fluid ounce   3.96 each and for those of you that are wondering  about nutritional information and ingredients   here it is in case you want to pause I got two  packages of the Hormel turkey pepperonis five   ounce bag these packages are 3.

94 each and they’re  over in the refrigerated section they were doing   quite a few markdowns in the beef section while  we were there so I picked up two I got a package   of the 9010 ground beef it is the 16 ounce or  one pound tube oh beef 5.

26 and check out this   amazing deal grass-fed beef chuck roast normally  12.67 they marked almost seven dollars off of it   this Chuck Rose five dollars and seventy cents  grabbed an onion to throw in with that pot roast   but I have no idea what I paid for this check  out this can that’s what grabbed my attention   because I typically do not drink Rockstar Energy  Drinks this one is the pure zero fruit punch as   far as carb count goes it has two total and two  erythritol so zero net carbs this was one dollar   and fifty cents that’s it for Walmart now on to  the next store [Music] if you’ve been with me from   the beginning you know I love me some Dollar Tree  everything that I’m going to share with you right   now was a dollar 25.

I am obsessed with these  Tillamook Chophouse bites in the jalapeno cheddar   0.7 ounces it has two total carbs and one net carb  I need to find these in the larger bags and stock   up they do have a little bit of spice to them  so you’ve been warned 22 ounce bottle of Kraft   Mayo buffalo style dressing spicy Tangy dippable  delicious and it says it is hot these are normally   around five dollars at grocery stores and this is  the main reason I go to Dollar Tree to look for   energy drinks we picked up several of the big game  energy drinks that they had the cotton candy and   the sour gummy as far as nutritional information  everything is zero except one carb we’ve talked   about this in the past I don’t know what’s going  on with kai2 and super coffee but there are tons   of them at closeout stores like Dollar Tree  right now this time they had in the mocha this   is an enhanced coffee zero added sugar 10 grams of  protein and 200 milligrams of caffeine for total   carbs and only two net carbs keto gluten free and  lactose free 12 ounce cans of Rockstar pure zero   the silver ice two total carbs one erythritol  so it’s gonna have one net carb Body Fortress   high protein shake it has 40 grams of protein and  the flavor is strawberry 180 calories 1.

5 fat two   total carbs I’m not a protein shake kind of girl  so Chris is the one that’s going to drink this   that’s it for Dollar Tree let me know if you found  any good drinks or deals there this week [Music]   United Grocery Outlet it is a closeout grocery  store that is in the South I try to go at least   once a week because inventory is constantly  changing they still had these simply nature   broccoli florets this is the 10 ounce steamable  bag non-GMO and they were 79 cents so I went   ahead and grabbed two more these are the 10 ounce  bags of organic fruits I got the whole strawberry   and the bag of blueberries certified organic and  non-GMO plus they’re unsweetened I like the fact   that it is in a resealable bag so I don’t have to  use them all at once they were one dollar each Del   Monte French style green beans this one is with  onions red peppers and garlic non-GMO 79 cents 10   ounce cans of Red Gold tomato love this is a chili  starter seasoned diced and crushed tomatoes this   is perfect because then I don’t have to add any  additional C seasonings when I make chili or if   I make taco soup these will be perfect look at  that ingredient list no sugar they were 59 cents   a piece 16 ounce package of Jimmy Dean premium  pork sausage in the Italian 1.

99 they also had   the two pound package Jimmy Dean sausage this one  is the regular 2.99 Philadelphia Cream Cheese four   packs in this box each pack is eight ounces  four dollars and ninety nine cents I’m pretty   sure that’s what a two pack is at Walmart right  now two containers of cottage cheese these are   16 ounces each and it is the four percent they  were one dollar a piece one pound variety pack   of Hillshire Farm ultra thin honey roasted turkey  breast and the smoked ham the ham is the lowest   in carb count the turkey was pretty high 4 deli  meat it has five total carbs probably gonna add   that one to Briley’s lunches the deli meat was  three dollars and fifty cents two cans of the   Green Giant cut green beans these are the 14 and  a half ounce cans no preservatives non-GMO only   ingredients green beans water and salt a serving  is half a cup with four total carbs two net carbs   these were 59 cents each I like to keep them on  hand because they are a quick side dish all I have   to do is dump the can into a pot on the stove with  a little bit of salt and butter cooked till tender   add the main dish and dinner is served that’s  everything that I picked up at United Grocery   Outlet this week now before I go let me remind  you of just a few things in case you missed it   I have been doing weekly uploads to my keto on a  budget Series so if you’re trying to save money   on your groceries you might want to check out  those videos I’ll link the playlist for you up   in the cards in down in the description box  and while you’re down in that description   box make sure you scroll all the way through  look at all of those discount codes because I   may have one for the keto low carb items that  you order online in this way you can save some   money I hope everyone’s having an amazing month  so far and I’ll see you in the next video bye foreign [Music]

How to start a Clean Eating Diet

1. Include a lot of healthy whole foods in your diet.

If you are currently on a diet full of highly processed foods containing large amounts of refined sugar and sodium, don’t start by excluding anything in your diet, but rather by INCLUDING a lot of healthy whole foods.

Go to the grocery store and first fill your cart with all the things you want to include in your diet that will nourish your body.

Buy tons of vegetables, a lot of fruit, a reasonable amount of protein, and healthy carbohydrates. You will most likely reduce the amount of processed food in your cart by 80% simply because your cart is already full.

2. Meal Plan.

Meal planning is key for successful grocery shopping. You will not only buy the ingredients you need, avoid food waste AND save money! But you’ll also spend way less time wandering around the aisles with the chance of grabbing some junk food.

Before going to the store, go with a plan. Write down the recipes for the days you want to plan ahead for and make a list of the ingredients.

Plan ahead your meals from breakfast to bedtime. Some people like to plan day by day and include their cravings for certain foods or deals of the day in the store. Others like to plan out the whole week. Do whatever works best for you, but write it down on a list and bring it to the store with you.

Buy all the things your clean eating meal plan calls for. Only then, when you have all of it in your cart, if you can’t help it, then go down the junk food aisle.

3. Choose easy recipes.

Go for recipes that don’t take longer than 30 minutes to prepare. Over time, you will feel more confident and might want to try more complicated recipes. But first, keep it simple. It will help you realize that cooking healthy meals from scratch is not a daunting task, and it will make it easier to continue eating healthy in the long run.

Cook ahead! Have your meals ready to eat or half prepped, ready to cook. How likely do you think you will grab a microwave dinner or go to a fast-food restaurant if you could have your delicious planned dinner instead?

Aim for only having healthy things ready to grab instead of unhealthy stuff, and you’ll automatically improve your diet.

Recipes for One Day of Clean Eating For Beginners

  • Snack: clementines
  • Dinner: Chicken thighs with sweet potatoes and asparagus

How to Make: 

Clean Eating Breakfast:

The simplest way to make a healthy wholesome breakfast is to take a minute the night before to prepare it.

1 . Add  ¾ cups of old-fashioned rolled oats and ¾ cups of your favorite milk into an airtight container, mix with a spoon and place it in the fridge overnight. That’s it!

2. The next morning, take it out of the fridge and top it with some berries and a drizzle of maple syrup. Enjoy!

Clean Eating Lunch:

If you work outside the home, you might want to prepare your lunch the night before. But even if you work from home, having lunch prepared and waiting in the fridge is always nice isn’t it?

1. Add 1 cup of quinoa and 1 cup of water to the Instant Pot. That is the minimum necessary to get it to pressure. Then place a trivet into the pot as well and add 2 large fridge-cold eggs to it. Set the timer for just 1 minute on high pressure + full natural pressure release. I love that I can cook quinoa and hard-boiled eggs at the same time.

We will only need one egg for the lunch bowl, but since you’re cooking double the amount of quinoa, you might as well add another egg and have everything ready for a second lunch bowl for another day.

2. While the quinoa is cooking, prepare an ice bath for the eggs and set it aside.

3. Prep your veggies. Get a Lebanese cucumber, a carrot, a handful of grape or cherry tomatoes, and a small handful of parsley. Peel the carrot and then julienne or grate it. Cut the ends of your cucumber and cut it into slices. Lastly, finely chop your parsley and set it aside.

4. Prep your dressing. In a sealable jar add the juice of half a lemon, 1 Tbsp of olive oil, sea salt, and pepper to taste. Shake until well combined and place it in the fridge.

5. By now your quinoa and eggs are probably ready. Remove the eggs immediately after the safety pin dropped. Add them to the ice bath to stop them from cooking further.

6. Assemble your quinoa lunch bowl. Add half of the cooked quinoa into a sealable container, then top it with the julienned carrot, sliced cucumber, grape tomatoes and the hard-boiled egg. Sprinkle some chopped parsley on top and seal it. Place it in the fridge overnight.

7. Pour the dressing over your lunch bowl only seconds before you’re ready to eat it, and dive in!

Clean Eating Dinner:

Let’s keep it simple but still super delicious!

1. Get two skinless boneless chicken thighs and season the heck out of them. Use ½ tsp paprika, ½ oregano, ¼ chili powder ½ tsp sea salt, and black pepper to taste.

2. Rub the spices well on both sides of the chicken and set them aside.

3. Get a small sweet potato, peel it, and cut it into ½ inches slices. Make sure they are not much thicker than that or they won’t cook through.

4. Preheat a large pan over medium heat. Once it’s really hot, add a splash of avocado oil then place the chicken thighs and the sweet potato slices into the sizzling oil. Sear brown for 5 minutes on one side, flip and sear for another 5 minutes on the other side.

5. Add a handful of green asparagus to the pan and a splash of water to deglaze the bottom. Cover the pan with a lid and reduce the heat to low. Steam for approximately 20 minutes or until sweet potato is tender.

6. Serve the chicken thighs, sweet potatoes and asparagus on a plate, and pour the delicious pan juices all over it. It’s the best part!

And there you have it! A full day of Clean Eating! Breakfast takes 1 minute to prepare the night before and another minute to top in the morning. Lunch takes 15-20 minutes to prepare, and dinner takes 40 minutes tops, of which 20 minutes require you to do nothing at all but wait.
